Last week Karen posted a wonderful cover of a vintage Christmas book. Here's the image she posted.
I have several photos of my son visiting Santa every year before Christmas. I have been wanting to create a scrapbook of these pictures and I thought this would be the perfect cover.
Because the image that Karen posted was beautiful just as it was, I didn't want to do too much to it to "dress" it up. I printed the image, inked the edges and adherered it to an 8.5" x 11" piece of patterned scrapbook paper. I added a few embellishments.....ribbon, buttons, brads, sticker....and then adhered this to a heavy piece of 8.5" x 11" chipboard. Here's a picture of the finished cover of my "A Visit From Saint Nicholas" scrapbook.
Here are a few closeups of some of the elements I added:
Sticker and brads
Ribbon and buttons
Felt star and button
Now I have a wonderful scrapbook for these pictures of Alex visiting Santa Claus
Thanks to Karen for posting this great Christmas graphic.

Awesome idea Jane! It's something that I really need to do too but the task just seems so daunting. Wish I had seen it years ago.
ReplyDeleteReally fabulous.
Here I just got into the Fall spirit and you are creating wonderful Christmas things. Beautiful, but I am so not ready yet!
ReplyDeleteThat turned out great, I just love the old world Santa. I like the personal touches you added, especially the felt star. Very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteOH, those are so cute! I love the button detail! I really have a lot of fun making invitation postcards for our Christmas time cookie swap- this idea is perfect. THanks so much for sharing, and also for the link!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scrapbook! I had started birthday albums for the kids, but never organized it all well enough. At one time I had started a Halloween scrapbook but that fell to the side too. This makes we want to get all those pictures and finally do something with them. Great idea! Best wishes, :) Tammy
ReplyDeleteAWESOME Jane! I LOVE old world Santas. You did an excellent job on adding your own personal touch. Let the Christmas inspirations start....I'm so ready to see!
ReplyDeleteJane, I also printed that out...I printed it on fabric and cardstock, but have no idea what to do with it...I love what you did, but I am NO scrapbooker! Your cover came out great and the photos are adorable...I already have Christmas on my mind :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Jane,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea for this graphic!! How fun that you're putting all of the photos of your son, with Santa, in one book. I bet your family will enjoy looking at that every Christmas for years to come.
I love the cute star that you used, and the way you used the brads, really makes that center image of Santa look like a separate piece of artwork!
Thanks so much for playing along today for "Brag Monday" you always come up with the most amazing ideas.
This was a great use for that graphic, Jane! I saved that image as well, although I couldn't think of how to use it yet {I still have Halloween and Fall on the brain at the moment}.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea for a scrapbook, love those graphics!
ReplyDeleteJane: this is beautiful!! It would be so gorgeous in a prominent place through the holidays!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your support! I even HATE to exercise. I mean, I am moving all the time, but doesn't do me much good! They tell me I need to sweat! Eewwwww!
I will keep you posted!!
