Vintage Christmas Monday

Welcome to the last installment of Vintage Christmas Monday.  This has been such a fun party!  Thanks to Joan @ Anything Goes Here for being our fabulous host.  I have definitely found a vintage-loving group of fellow bloggers and I have really enjoyed being a part of the party.

Believe it or not, I have run out of vintage Christmas items to show.  So today I am posting a couple of pictures of my favorite "vintage" people (and they said it was OK to call them that)....my parents.  My Mom and Dad both turned 80 this year and they have been married for 56 years.  This first picture is of their 1st Christmas together in 1953.

And this picture is of them last year opening up one of their presents.

Merry Christmas Mom and Dad!

And a very Merry Christmas to everyone that I have "met" and come to know through my blog.  I started this blog to share some of my ideas and projects never knowing that I would meet so many wonderful people along the way.  I appreciate all of your comments and support these past few months and look forward to sharing more projects and gathering more ideas from all of you in 2010.

Happy Holidays!

Jane

  2. How precious and heart warming to see photos of your parents. Thank you for sharing. I have only been blogging since November, but I find it so rewarding to be able to write about my crafts, decorating and family memories. It is like I am sharing with girlfriends all over the blogging universe. It is fun. A very Merry Christmas to you and your family.

  3. I can believe that you ran out of vintage (I had difficulty, too.) But I love the old black and white photo. In fact, while seeing a few others throughout the blogs, I though to myself, "These look just like OUR family picture!" I had to take a second look to be sure it wasn't US. It was a peculiar feeling. Don't know if I expressed it right or not....

Merry Christmas to you and your precious mother and father. (I am blessed to have both of mine still living, too - age 83.)

  12. Merry Christmas to you, too!

I love the photos. I'm delighted to see a tree with tinsel!

I refuse to give up my beloved tinsel! Christmas just doesn't seem to to be Christmas without it. Of late, though, I've had to resort to getting it online! :)

  14. Your parents are adorable. The tree in the picture takes me waaaaay back to when I was a child. Tinsel always fascinated me, so shiny and light. I loved the way it danced when you walked by.

  25. Love the pics of your parents...how sweet...and 56 years - wow!! I am going on 30 yrs and I can't even imagine twice that (I imagine that one of us is bound to kill the other before that..haha).

I had to make another 2 "Jane's snowmen" last night and I bought 2 cordial glasses at GW - they are so cute....so some are s&p shakers, some are candlesticks and then the cordials....I imagine they will be fighting over which is the cutest! - it's always fun to "stir up" the family when we are all together...tee-hee!!

Thanks for the kind words...I have also enjoyed getting to know you and also wish we lived closer together so we could meet for lunch...Lunch would last for days! Enjoy Christmas with your family and have a happy and healthy holiday
