Snow Day

This morning I woke up to this (and I'm going to admit that I slept in until 10:30 this morning!!):
Although the weather outside is frightful.....I don't think it's half as frightful as the current condition of my studio.

So today is a clean-up day for me.  Time to get organized!

I'm going to finish wrapping ribbon around these vintage clothespins and store them in this cool glass container I found at a thrift store for $5.00.

I'm going to put away the projects I didn't get finished before Valentine's Day.

I'm going to organize all the glass bottles and salt and pepper shakers that will be made into snowmen.

I'm going to felt some wool sweaters....

To make some more of these:

I'm going to try and come up with some ideas on how to use these printers drawers (all suggestions are welcome).  I have 6 of them that I found at an antique mall for $5.00 apiece.

I'm going to find a home for my latest vintage suitcase.  I found this one this week at an antique mall for $5.00 (there seems to a $5.00 theme going on here).

I'm going to start working on a project using this 1907 Anchors Aweigh sheet music for my stepson who is in the Navy.

And if time permits I might even attempt to venture into this closet to uncover what lurks inside!

Wish me luck!!!!

And I almost forgot....I'm trying to get my post finished showing my guest room redo.  It went from this:

To this:

But I've got lots of pictures that I want to share so stay tuned.

Hope you are having a peaceful Sunday.

Jane

On a day like today, inside projects seem more do-able. Good luck!

  2. haha -- That studio looks like it would be so much fun! As I was going down you list of "to do's", I was thinking, "She needs to do a post about her bedroom." I'm getting so demanding, aren't I? But then at the end of your post, I got to see one picture, which I so love. The dark walls, the colors, the contrast, and your decorative elements look so wonderful. I'm anxious to see more. Also curious about the clothespins. That sounds like a cute project.

  3. The guest room looks great, Jane! Those boxes are so interesting ~ I'll bet there are many things you could do with them. My first thought was something similar I had seen that was done up as a calendar/advent type thing and someone else did pictures of her grandchildren interspersed with decorative papers and embellishments. It was a very creative way to display pictures of her grandchildren. Have you been to 7 Gypsies blog? That's where I saw these things; you should check them out.

  4. The guest room looks great! I'm really looking forward to more.

Your studio looks a lot like mine, although I think mine might be worse. I still haven't put away all the Valentine projects I didn't finish and some from back in January. I just love puttering in there don't you? Oh and your studio looks fabulous! Love that work area!

  5. Drooling over your studio space and wishing that I could help clean it up.

The trays and the suitcase were scores at $5. I can picture the trays as a clever room divider with little trinkets and mementos in them. (Says she, knowing that in all her years, she has never had the right house for a room divider)

  11. You are making me tired! Good thing you slept until 10:30. Oh my! Can I ever relate. My work room gets to looking like yours. Every once in awhile I just have to tackle it so I can get creative again. Did I miss a post where you made snowmen out of crystal shakers? Everything looks so exciting even in a state of confusion! :)

  18. Jane your guest room is so lovely. It turned out so nice. The colors are wonderful.
I am so glad that someone else has a studio that looks like this. Is there any other way to create? You get more done in a week than I do in a year.

  20. Okay, our lives are overlapping once again. My space is a total disaster...I still have unfinished Christmas projects out! I also have a stack of printers trays waiting to be dealt with. My latest idea is photo displays in my hallway, similar to Ali Edwards (yes, another Edwards ;-o). There's also this, and this. Hope these help.

  21. We had warm enough weather here that it melted all the snow Sunday. I did spend a big part of my day rearranging in my craft room. Spring is almost here and I don't want to get caught indoors!
