You know what I realized after visiting so many of the beautiful studios during the "Where Blogger's Create" party? I realized I needed (wanted) an inspiration board in my space.
I saw a lot of wonderful inspiration boards while I was party hopping and you all inspired me to create a board of my own.
I found this rusty metal piece last weekend at an antique mall. I'm pretty sure it was a screen door shield in it's previous life.
Then I dug through my drawer of odds and ends.
And found these two hooks to add to the top.
The reveal......my inspiration board to display photos, projects, ideas, gifts, etc.
Thanks to everyone for inspiring me to create my board. I can't wait to start filling it up.
And one more "just because" picture. I found a bag of old rolled thread at a thrift store and placed the rolls in an old jar. The jar was sitting on my work top tonight when the sun was shining through the window. I think it made for a pretty picture.
I'm linking with Leigh @ Tales from Bloggeritaville for her popular Thrifty Thursday party. There's always a lot of great thrifty finds at the party so link back to Leigh and check them out.

ReplyDeleteHi Jane,
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful space! I love your new idea board. The photo of the jar with the thread rolls looks just like something out of a magazine.
Great space!
I curious to see your inspiration board in action! What a pretty photo of the string in the jar. Makes the jar look huge!

ReplyDeleteThat is adorable!! Very unique too!!
ReplyDeleteJane, your fabulous inspiration board is already working...on ME!! What a wonderful bit of repurposing...it's perfect!! What great vision you have! I can't wait to see how you fill it over time... And I LOVE your "odds and ends" drawer - everybody need one of those! Your jar of thread looks like a jar of sparkly ornaments...so pretty!

Very pretty, Jane! Love the inspiration board and your jar of threads. I think it's great that you have supplies on hand to put together things like an inspiration board.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for an inspiration board. So much more decorative than a framed cork board. I'll have to remember this one.
ReplyDeleteGreat piece - great post! I need an inspiration board too, I think I'll fill it with copies of posts like this to keep me motivated :)
ReplyDeleteI love it. It turned out so great. I love that jar too. Have a wonderful weekend.

Morning Jane!
ReplyDeleteI'm just waking up at Paper Cowgirls and had to come check on my fav thrifty blog to get my "fix" on everything beautiful :)
Sure enough...I'm feelin' the beauty as I look at the wonderful photo of that rolled thread...gorgeous!
And as for that inspiration board, you make me want to go rip off the screen protector at my Grandma's old house. Do you think the new owners would notice that it would be missing?
I love all of your ideas Jane...LOVE THIS!!!!!
Jane, I was looking at your studio and it looks alot like a haven of wonderful things. Is your studio where you work full time?? Or is it just your escape? I have a room that am thinking of using as my studio but I do not have a business just my tinkering....How nice of you to share your space with us...it is wonderful. Dianntha
ReplyDeleteJane, you are so creative..... love the board! Of course the jar of threads looks pretty amazing to me too!!! I love old jars, even more when they are filled with sewing goodies!!!
ReplyDeleteDid they really sell a hearse? Too funny what things you see at yard sales!!!
I can't wait to see what you make with all those fabulous measuring sticks!!!
Hugs,
Margaret B
Jane-I really can't believe you created that out of odds and ends! YOU are the inspiation! I love you jar of threads. Isn't it funny how something so simple can be a thing of beauty? It reminds me to look for beauty in simple things---it's there. SIX kids??? I can't believe you ever got to go to the ice cream truck unless he sold by the gallon :)
ReplyDeleteOh, Jane, the new (old) inspiration board is fabulous! I look forward to seeing what you fill it up with. I also love the thread in the jar. Colorful! I really have a thing for string and thread is very close to string!
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative! Love your new inspiration board.
ReplyDeleteAwesome new inspiration board, Jane! Oh, to have that much wall space!!
ReplyDeleteI did borrow your idea with the large spool holding your rulers and lace. I drilled holes into my spindle at the top and in the mid section, added the teacup hooks and hung my tubes of swarovski beads from it. I'll have to post a blog pic sometime this weekend (and will give you credit for the great idea!). Your room gets my vote (if they choose to ask me) for the WWC mag layout. I just love your space!
Oh Jane, You are so creative!
ReplyDeleteI must say, I love your odd and ends drawer! Your space is inspiring me to "clean up my studio", which has been in such a tornadic state that I have yet to post about it!
I do love you just because photo!
