I shopped at one of my local thrift stores this week and came across this heavy duty muffler clamp for $1.00.
I don't have a clue how this clamps a muffler but I had another idea on how I could use the clamp.
See the nuts at the bottom of the clamp.
I unscrewed these until they were level with the bottom of the screw so the clamp would stand upright
Next I slid a postcard in between the clamp ring and the base.
And I had an instant photo/postcard holder for a reproduction vintage postcard that I purchased during our trip to Paris.
This project took less than a minute to create and I love the results. I think I might have to hit the automotive store on my next shopping trip.
Of course I'm going to use this opportunity to show you some of the pictures I took of the Eiffel Tower on my vacation. I think I came home with a few dozen pictures of the Eiffel Tower from every conceivable angle. I'm only going to bore you with a few.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Jane

That was a great idea. Now we will all be running to the auto parts store instead of the thrift shop.
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing us.
At any and every angle, the tower is breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!
Amazing shots of the Eiffel Tower! I've wondered how hard it is to get a good shot, because there must always be people around.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how cool that clamp looks! I think there's going to be a run on them now that you've shown this!
Have a great weekend!
Carol
What a real neat idea, and I've got to tell you, I would have never thought about using it as you cleverly did!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE your Eiffel Tower pictues and especially the picture that looks like it is lit up.. When my ex was in the Army, he was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, and our daughter and I joined him back in 1969. We took a trip with a couple friends to Paris, and that was like a dream come true for me! They were working on the Tower back then when we stopped by it, so we only were able to get to the second level, but, it still was so awesome looking!! I'd love to go back there and visit again someday!
Have a great weekend!
Blessings,
~Lynn
This is the neatest idea...I hope you don't mind if I borrow it. Your pictures of the Eiffel Tower are awesome, what an amazing structure...hugs, Linda

ReplyDeleteHi Jane, You made me chuckle! How many women would come home with a muffler clamp from a thrift store tour. That's just too cool! Didn't you get some confused looks at the cash register?
ReplyDeleteThe Eiffel Tower - I just love this sight and so I enjoy your pictures very much. Thank you for sharing!
Have a great weekend!

Julia
Hi Jane, your pics are beautiful. If it was me I would have taken a few hundred. Thanks for stopping by and visiting me. The watch face in the tin is a magnet. It would be awesome if it was working. Great idea! I am going to have to try and figure out a way to make one. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteRebecca
Great use of the clamp! And, I enjoyed the photos. Seeing the Eiffel tower in person seems like an unlikely event for me (not in a sad poor me way...just not where I am now) so it's fun to live it vicariously through your pictures.
ReplyDeleteAmazing how you turned a muffler cap into a photo holder... definitely thinking outside the box!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery clever and your photos are VERY Good! I love that 2nd one looking up at it. I think you have talent in MANY areas!
ReplyDeleteYour photos could be postcards, they're so beautiful! Who else but you would look at a muffler clamp and see a picture holder? It's perfect for your Eiffel Tower postcard. Now if I can keep this idea in my head longer than an hour, I may just have to look for one for my motorhead brother-in-law. 'Course he's probably got them just sitting around his shop.
ReplyDeleteCreative genius at work!
ReplyDeleteXoXo
Michelle
Muffler clamps...you are genius! Love all the angles of the Eiffel Tower. Postcard worthy!
ReplyDeletexxx
Carole
I want to go there....
ReplyDeleteCan you use the muffler clip as a handle for something? I'm thinking about drilling holes and then putting bolts on from underneath?? I'll have to give it some more thougtht - not that I need a handle on anything...haha
I would never in a million years look at that muffler clamp and think "mmm, photo display". Guess that's why you're the Queen of Clever. And the Eiffel Tower pics are spectacular! Hope you're having a fantastic weekend.
ReplyDeleteJane, you are a clever lady. Great idea! Love the photos of the Eiffel Tour. Have a great weekend. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteHi Jane, great idea for the muffler clamp and even better with that beautiful photo you took of the Eiffel Tower!
