Spring Table

We had an absolutely beautiful day today.....sunny and 80 degrees.  Not your typical Missouri March day!

Although we don't have any flowers outside yet, I bought some flowers at the store today to bring a little of that spring feeling into the house.
Putting a flower arrangement together is not one of my strengths.
But I did score a great find at the thrift store this week that I wanted to use to display my flowers.

Wheaton numbered lab bottles.
I found 9 of these lab bottles and bought them all.
They also had several Pyrex beakers at the thrift store and I purchased a couple of those too.

I arranged six of the lab bottles around a Pyrex beaker and added a few flowers to each bottle for my display.
I love how the afternoon sun shines through the bottles.

I'm joining a few fun Friday parties:
Debra @ Common Ground for Vintage Inspiration Friday
and
Linda @ A La Carte for Junkin Finds Friday

Have a great weekend.

Jane

  9. I love the look of fresh flowers in plain bottles or mason jars. What part of Missouri are you from? My husband's family is from Louisiana, MO. We are planning on flying into St. Louis this summer, visiting his 102+ yr. old grandmother & then to Herman for the wine vineyards. Any suggestions for great antiquing???Tiff (the3steers@charter.net)

I found some daisies on sale for 2.50 for a large bunch. I have wanted some more daisies but I can't make myself pay full price for them :)

  19. Great idea for the bottles, Jane! I love the way the sun comes through them, too. Every little bit helps, even flowers from the grocery; I've been eyeing some when I pop in for a few grocery items myself. I'm hoping we are over most of the Winter here ~ "they" say 67 for us today!

  21. That is one of the BEST thrift store scores I've seen! Probably it's the numbers on them that got me. :) They look beautiful grouped all together like that. Enjoy the warmer weather...it's about time and it's supposed to be gorgeous here again today too!
