I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend.
I hosted Easter dinner at my house this past weekend but before I could have my family over for a meal I had to clear off my dining room table. The dining room seems to be the place where a lot of my "treasures" end up when I first bring them home and let's just say I had a lot of treasures sitting on the table.
Using only stuff that was on my dining room table, I decided to redecorate a display shelf in my kitchen. It was a great way to clean off the table and use a lot of the thrifty finds that I have purchased recently. You may recognize some of the pieces from a couple of my past posts.
Of course now all of the stuff that was previously on the shelf needs a new home.....one thing just leads to another!
I'm joining Linda @ Coastal Charm for Nifty Thrifty Tuesday. Link back to Linda and check out some great thrifty finds.
Have a great day.
Jane

I can totally relate!
ReplyDeleteLove your display!
*hugs*deb
Great stuff and displays. Yep, new comes in and something has to go. Of course all mine is gathered in the bonus room and it looks like I need Hoarders anonymous.
ReplyDeleteThe white stands out so well against the wonderful patina of everything else Jane. Sometimes I must find the surface of my table too! ♥O
ReplyDeleteIt tends to do that, Jane, doesn't it. You've started a whole thing rolling here once you move stuff. I use my dining room table as a holding area, too. It's hardly used for dining, so why not! : ) I love creamers/pitchers like that little one you have on the box with that great detail. I've got pieces like that on my mental list and next trip thrifting I'll be looking to get some.
ReplyDeleteJane,
ReplyDeleteI need to do the same thing with all my new thrifty treasures on my dining room table...first I need to paint the new shelf to display it all on:) Thanks so coming by and I love all your treasures...my favorites are all the ironstone!
Blessings,
Linda
One thing leads to 5 other things. I can relate. Our dining room table is filled with kitchen stuff. I'm painting our cabinets. Can't wait to reclaim it. Love the ironstone and glass bottles with #'s. Great display!
ReplyDelete~Michelle :)
That's funny you posted this today. I dealt with the same thing yesterday! I am constantly bringing in 'new' pieces to put up so I have to store the old display pieces in plastic tubs in the attic....which would explain why I am in desperate need to have a yard sale!
ReplyDeleteYour display is beautiful..it all just fits together!
Great display!
ReplyDeleteDo you have a fetish for white pitchers, like I do?
ReplyDeleteGreat display!
Why is it the dining room table is the catch-all in most homes! Nice display, Jane.
ReplyDeleteit is so true, just when you think you have a handle on things a new problem pile arises, lol
ReplyDeleteLooks great Jane

That looks wonderful, Jane! My dining room table always ends up being my staging area, too, along with my foyer bench...LOL
ReplyDeleteYes I agree, one thing leads to another, but I am thinking you love it and wouldn't have it any other way! :) As usual it looks great!
ReplyDeleteHi from a new follower. Yes I agree too always one thing leads to another..Come by and visit us at Our Creative Hands Sincerely Rachel
ReplyDeleteExactly! When you try to organize, one thing does lead to another and sometimes it just leads to an even bigger mess. Ugh! I have several boxes under my dining table filled with recycled jars, boxes and tins. It's a never ending battle. Hope you had a wonderful Easter celebration. Best wishes for the rest of the week. Tammy
ReplyDeleteGreat combination of colors and textures.
ReplyDeleteHi Jane,
ReplyDeleteI love how you've displayed your treasures. And, lots of treasures too! You have the knack girl, that's for sure!!!

Sounds a lot like what went on here in preparation for Easter company. "Oh, this will look good here!" Funny how quickly things can find a nice home when necessary - otherwise it can take me months to decide where to put something! Your displays are always so lovely and your "getting ready for company" display is no exception : )
ReplyDeleteI hear ya Jane, musical chairs here alot too! Your shelf looks so awesome and I love everything about it!!! Do you ever wonder why you don't get paid to do this, cause I think you should!
ReplyDeleteRearranging is such fun, and you are fabulous at the way you put things together. A+!
ReplyDeleteLooks great...such a fun combo of things! I have the same trouble on my diningroom table...seems to be the "landing spot" for uncompleted projects and treasures looking for a "new home" :) Laurel@chippingwithcharm
ReplyDeleteJane,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely display! Love the white contrast against the black shelf!

The stoppered bottles are really neat! I know how one project leads to another. sometimes you just have to grab a box and fill it and take it to the basement. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks great, Jane. I know what you mean. I have a new "pile" of fall/winter items from the porch. Not sure where to put all this stuff!
ReplyDeleteYou always have everything so beautifully displayed!
ReplyDeleteJeanine
LOVE this display!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to show my husband how you use the cigar boxes!
It's my office that gets everything when I come home from treasure hunting! I love the way you've displayed your goodies!!!
ReplyDeletelOve those old bottles Jane! Your vignettes and photos are always beautiful, magazine worthy really. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter! I'm so glad you reposted last years Easter post, it was so sweet, the memory glass "box" is perfect! t. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHAHA Sounds like we all have the same feelings here. Let's see who get's rid of it faster. Love your displays Jane!
