What a hot afternoon it was to walk around an outdoor flea market!
The temperature was once again in the triple digits and I think I spent more money on ice cold lemonade than I did on treasures.
Today was just one of those days that I didn't see a lot of things I wanted to buy. My biggest purchase of the day was eight old cigar boxes @ 50 cents apiece!
I have a hard time passing up cigar boxes. I love the graphics and the bright colors and I like how useful they are for storing smaller items.
I have an idea in mind for a few of these boxes but it would require taking them apart and I am indecisive about doing that.
I love the look of this tall stack of boxes so I just can't decide to leave them be or move forward with the project.
Maybe a good night's sleep will help me decide.
Happy Labor Day Weekend!
Jane

Jane,
ReplyDeleteNeat old boxes...you need to go for it...your ideas are always GREAT!!!!
Blessings,
Linda
Hi Jane.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am the same. I love these cigar boxes but always hold back on creating with them.
Hope you have a great nights sleep and come up with something spectacular!
Amy
Can't wait to see what you will do with the cigar boxes!

Great boxes! I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with...especially because you'll be taking them apart. Wonder what that will be?
ReplyDeleteOh, come on just take one apart and then post what you did with it, then let your followers help you decide if you should do the rest.
ReplyDeleteI love those boxes but doubt id change them they look so good stacked like that.I am sure you will do something great tho.
ReplyDeleteThey look great just stacked on top of each other, what a find!
ReplyDeleteThose cigar boxes are so colorful. I had one for years, but now I'm wondering what has happened to it.
ReplyDeleteGreat colors Jane! Have fun:@)
ReplyDeleteWow - they are incredible - and what a fantastic price! I've just become your newest follower - love the blog!

Good Morning, Jane,
ReplyDeleteI just love cigar boxes for storing little things too...great find at 50 cents each!
Enjoy the Holiday Weekend. ~Natalie
Great finds Jane! I love vintage stuff too.
ReplyDeleteThose cigar boxes look just great as they are,but what do I know! Looking forward to seeing what you create with them Jane!Enjoy the high temps.here in Southern Ireland its autumn now and summer passed without the need to take out a bottle of sun tan lotion!
ReplyDeleteI love those cigar boxes, they make for great accents because of there lively colors. Still hot here too Jane. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThey do look great just stacked there, but you come up with some of the cutest ideas so you might want to go ahead and do your project with them. I had planned to go a flea market today, but it's going to be too darn hot.
ReplyDeleteAwesome cigar boxes. I have a couple of them and the graphics and colors appeal to me also. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeletethey are pretty now but with your magic touch, i know you will make them FABULOUS! can't wait to see.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine being outside willingly the last few days! It's supposed to cool off starting Sunday, can't wait!
ReplyDeleteCigar boxes do come in handy for storage...and they stack so neatly.
I'm thinking of a TV commercial, I think for laundry soap, where the mom is shouting, "do it, do it, do it!" I don't know what you have in mind but I know it will be great and I want to see it! Do it!
ReplyDeleteSusanne.
That was a great price. When I was looking for one, I went everywhere and they would not sell one to me! Even the news ones! I finally got one at a grocery store...but they are getting harder to find.
ReplyDeleteI saw a folk art lamp last spring that was made by stacking old cigar boxes up. It was fantastic and didn't require a whole lot of tearing 'em up...just a hole. Just a suggestion.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
P.S. Great price...I pay a whole lot more for the ones I find.
I love cigar boxes too...they usually go cheap too. It's a love affair with color!
ReplyDeleteWell, hopefully YOU deciding what to do with yours will help ME decide what to do with mine! I've had mine for years and I just open the closet every once in a while and pet them. That's it. I'm very anxious to see your creations!
ReplyDeleteI see the wheels turning!! These are great...nothing like the cheap tins they sell them in now (hubby loves his cigars!). Can't wait to see what you are going to do.
ReplyDeleteIt's really hot here, too. I hope you have a good holiday weekend in spite of the heat.
XO,
Jane
Great deal! They look great stacked together!
ReplyDeleteJust looking at theat stack, as is, is attractive..the colors and graphics are great. My friend Marie has started a new thing on her blog..."I pinned it and did it" (Pinterest inspiration). My first project that I'm working on was inspired by you. I'll let you know when it's up!
ReplyDeleteHope it cools down soon. Even here in Pittsburgh it's 97 today! YIKES!
xoxo

Love old cigar boxes. I have altered some and left some as is. Maybe you could do the same.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Warmly,
deb
What a score! Can't wait to see what you do with them.
ReplyDeletexxx Liz
Oh, I say do your project, at least on half of them! Can't wait to see!
ReplyDeleteCarol
Awesome find. I love old cigar boxes too. So great for many uses.
ReplyDeleteTina
Can't wait to see what you come up with!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat find, yea!!
Debbie
I love them! Great colors and patterns. I have a few larger ones on my night stand. I stack them up and put small pants on top. I love the idea from Deb above to make a lamp stand. My girlfriend had a bunch as part of a gallery wall.
ReplyDeleteThey do look wonderful all stacked together like that. We used to use a cigar box as a pencil box at school. It was the perfect size.
ReplyDeleteI love them! I'm sure you would do them justice with one of your brilliant ideas. I'm looking forward to seeing what you create!!
