Sugar Bowls

I have a new obsession.
Sugar bowls
(And if I'm lucky, the matching creamer).
I can't really explain the attraction.
Sometimes it's just love at first sight.
I probably don't need another collection, but at least they're small!

I'm joining Kathleen @ Faded Charm for White Wednesday
and Kim @ Savvy Southern Style for Wow Us Wednesday.

Hope you're having a wonderful week.

Jane

  1. I think that's why I like them, too, Jane! I tend to lean more toward the creamers though if I could only choose one. They are small and you could pretty much tuck them in anywhere. Plus, you can get a pattern you love and it's cheaper for those pieces than a plate or something bigger. These are great for using in the bathroom to hold Q-tips and cotton balls.

  8. I just saw a sugar bowl at HomeGoods that was gorgeous. White with the most scrolley handles...but there was a chip...I was sad, but kinda glad. Lord knows...I didn't need it! I already have more creamers than a cow farm could use!!

  9. They're all so pretty, but the second-to-last is my favorite (who is that one made by?). Love the clean aesthetic. It looks like it could be either mid-century or contemporary.

You have a nice collection going there. My favorite would have to be the bottom photo. That one reminds me of the one my grandma had on her kitchen table.

  14. Very pretty. I really like the black and white one and the last one with flowers on the lid. I have a thing for cake stands...and I can't explain it..I don't even like cake!

  15. Maybe you are fascinated by them because they are so darn pretty. They are small enough to be beautiful little holders of things. I love the plain white or cream ones.

  19. I think I'm drawn to them because they are so feminine, they remind my of the tea party that an elderly neighbor used to put together for her and I. Those days always made me feel so special. Thanks for jogging my memory, Jane! t.xoxo

  20. They are all so pretty. Sugar bowls are a very nice thing to collect. I don't like it though when I find one at a thrift shop and the lid is missing......

  21. Pretties...and like you said they take up very little space...until you have hundreds! The brown transferware is Tonquin pattern?

  22. Truly sweet! I just got my Great Grandma's out the other day...they are so lovely.

  23. Great collection!!! I love the transferware bowls the best!!!

  24. Because they are so adorable! I happen to have a few of the creamers for the same reason. I rarely use them for actual cream but they do make cute little vases.

  25. And they're so pretty! Here I am packing everything. And each thing I pack, I think: when did I start collecting this? But then, you are what you are. And you collect what you collect!
