I found a pair of matching vintage barn pulleys at my all time favorite junk/antique store a couple of weeks ago.
These cast iron and wood pulleys show their age with weathered wood and just the right amount of rust.
I love a simple repurposing project.

I thought they were a good price at $7.50 apiece (and then realized what a great price they were after I checked the internet when I got home).
The cast iron gives them some weight, making them perfect to use as a set of bookends.
I didn't do anything with the pulleys except give them a little cleaning.I love a simple repurposing project.

I sure never thought of using them for bookends, but how COOL do they look with vintage books?!! I will probably have extras left over after my project gets complete, if that really ever happens.... ;^)
