A belated Happy New Year to everyone!!
I'm slowly trying to get back in the swing of things with creating and posting. It's been hard to find a lot of time but we have settled into somewhat of a new routine (for the moment) and I am finding little bits of time here and there to work on some projects.
The biggest project I had to tackle this past weekend was moving my antique booth space. The entire antique mall moved from the location it had occupied for 8 years into a building down the street. I have to admit, I was skeptical that the new location was going to work, but things are coming together and it's really starting to take shape.
Since I only had my booth for 2 months prior to the move, I was low girl on the totem pole when it came to picking a new space. I was rather dismayed (at first) to be in the back room of the lower level.
This is my 10' x 6' space (from the pole to the white door is 10' and from the pole to the wall is 6').
When I walked out yesterday afternoon this is what the space was looking like.
All of my display pieces are thrifty finds.
I still have some empty shelves to fill (and the owner has a big hole in the wall to cover).
Now that I am settled in my new space I am very happy with the location. It has great lighting and I have some wonderful "neighbors".
If you are ever in the vicinity of Parkville, MO stop by the Parkville Antique Mall and check it out!!
Have a great week.
Jane

Jane your space looks absolutely great!! I love your display. I'm sure it is a lot of work, but I think it would be fun to have a booth. Our market in Florida is terrible, but I have visited other shops in other states and loved what I have seen.

ReplyDeleteGreat to have you back and that things are calming down some! Your space looks amazing! Sometimes what we think we don't like in the beginning turns out to be the best thing after all! It's unreal how many of the things in your booth that we have in common! If we ever went shopping together, it would be whoever was fastest!

Hi Jane, I missed you! I am glad to see that you are making some time for yourself. It's tough taking care of loved ones who are sick. Don't forget to get some rest yourself.
ReplyDeleteI love your new space. On a totally selfish note , is that a Blue Clover Sugar bowl on your white hutch? Do you sell things by mail? I would be interested if it is.
Thanks!

Oh I can't believe you had to move to move....A lot of work you did not need! I think it looks fabulous! When my mall moved to a new space i was the low man on the totem pole too, but it worked out great and I was lucky like you to get good lighting. That step ladder won't be there long, people love step ladders. Tomorrow I go in to take out all of the Christmas stuff and put I Valentines. So glad Shirley can make it to the party!

Jane, your booth is amazing! I'm going to look it up on the map, I'm planning a day trip (or 2or 3 days, lol) around Missouri to go antique shopping and I'd love to come visit your mall. How many booths are in the mall?

ReplyDeleteYour space looks wonderful! Good luck to you. So glad to hear you are back in to the swing of things agains. Missed ya.
ReplyDeleteLisa
Your booth looks great! I started out in a small, not easy to find booth in the mall where I currently have my booth. But the management opened up a new area and asked me if I was interested in moving there. Of course I said yes. It took a while, but in the end I am in a space where my customers/followers know I am and they continue to shop my booth. Keep asking to move upstairs or to a better location if you feel you aren't getting the exposure you want. You go girl!!! I hope everything works out for you. Blessing to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteJane - your space looks wonderful! So welcoming -- I'm ready to shop :) Wish I were closer :(
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing! and I love all your organizing ideas - they are so inspiring! Thanks and good luck in your new location!
ReplyDeleteYour new space looks great! Hope you have great sales at the new location!

Very nice display. I suggest your put something like a tall orange vase ( this seasons hottest color) in one of the 2 crates on the floor to draw attention to them
ReplyDeleteYour space looks great! I would have a hard time leaving without a cart full!
ReplyDeleteHi Jane, glad to find you are finding time to do what you love. I know that whatever you are given, you will make it work and it will be absolutely wonderful. Take care! Hugs and blessings, Tammy
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!!
ReplyDeleteYour booth looks great.
Hoping all works out both with new 'routine' and new space.

The new booth looks great. Our booth is at the very back of our antique mall too and at first I was not happy. After a year there, I wouldn't move. The rent is cheaper back there and I'm told that many shoppers go to the back first and then work their way up to the front and out. If they get tired and skip booths, it is usually the ones in the middle. So, we do pretty well in the very back.
ReplyDeleteWow! What an amazing transformation! I sure enjoy all you do, you're soo talented!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Now I have another good excuse to make the drive to Parkville! As long as the snow stays away, at least. Glad to see you back! :-)
ReplyDeleteSaw your booth last weekend. My friend and I were very disappointed that the Mall had moved. Much smaller now.
ReplyDeleteHi Jane, I'm popping over from Vintage Revivals where someone nominated you as their favorite blog. I've enjoyed my visit! I was touched by your article about your hubby, LOVE the photo of your BEAUTIFUL grandmother, & wish I could shop your darling flea market booth. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWarmly, Michelle
Hi Jane...First of all my sincere condolences to Bruces family for their loss. I pray that peace and comfort will come to them.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time to your blog and I saw you on Bliss's blog so thought I'd drop over. LOVE your antique Valentines. Valentines is just one of my 'favoritist' days all year. And I just adore the old Valentines. They so remind me alot of my childhood.
I am a pretty new blogger and have come to love blogland. And now I have found you and your blog and it is just delightful. I just signed up to follow you.
Nann
Hey, I've read your blog off and on awhile, but didn't know you were in Parkville!! I used to teach at Park Hill High School! I live in IA now, but will have to stop at your booth when I'm in town!
ReplyDeleteoh wow...that little round tin with the red lid on the white cubboard - i have a bread box that matches that. can you tell me how much you are asking for that if you still have it?
