Thank You

I want to start my post with a big thank you for all of the condolences I have received over the past two weeks.  I read (and reread) every comment, e-mail and card and I want you to know that your kindness during this difficult time has meant so much to me and my family.

Bruce's life was celebrated just as he would have wanted.  There were tears, but more importantly, there was laughter as we remembered the good times he had shared over the years with his family and friends.  He will be missed by so many.

As we approach Valentine's Day I thought it would be fitting to repost a few photos of some of my vintage Valentines.  I have a large collection of valentines, the earliest from the turn of the 20th century.  The valentines have changed over the years but the sentiment of love remains the same.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Jane

  24. Your Valentines made me giggle that little boy chasing that girl on that 3 wheel scooter. Where did that wonderful red go they used so long ago? Today it looks so pale compared to the oldies.

So glad to see you back with a post. I'm a follower but don't always leave a comment.
It takes time for the healing process after losing a loved one. I just lost my mom before the holidays and miss her so much and always will but have fond memories to carry me through the sadness.
    Blessing to you,
    Cheryl

  60. Your previous post about your valentine collection inspired me to start my own. They're now one of a hundred other collections in my house.

It's so nice to see you back posting again. We've been saying many prayers for you in my household. Since we are also dealing with ALS, I know some of what you've been through over the last few months, so I know you are exhausted.

Sending lots of loving thoughts your way!

  63. Jane, I hadn't checked your blog for a while and wanted you to know how very, very sorry I am to hear of Bruce's death. He sounds like a wonderful man -- well-deserving of his hero status -- and it sounds like you celebrated his life beautifully. May each day get just a bit easier for you and your family.
