Updated Shelf

I was gathering some things to take to my booth today and decided to dress up one of the shelves I was selling and take some pictures before I took it down to the booth.

This is the BEFORE:
The shelf was very solid....just needed updated.

I painted and distressed it and then changed out the drawer knobs.
I then grabbed some things out of my studio for a quick photo shoot.
I found this book yesterday (in a barn....that's another complete post).
It's dated 1894 and has some beautiful graphics inside.
Don't you hate when they write the price right on the box?
 I hope it sells!

Alex is coming home for spring break today so I'm looking forward to the upcoming week.  Hope you have a good one too.

Jane

  8. Love the new look Jane! Somehow I just knew that you would put crystal knobs on it, hehe. You have such a knack for displaying merchandise, I bet you have such a blast in your booth. That was always my favorite part, the arranging. Ah yes, the prices on the box, or book. I have always disliked this and I make sure that I NEVER do it.

    Enjoy your time with Alex~

  19. That looks great, Jane! I love it white ~ it looks very fresh. Love the way you've displayed it, too. I do hate that! They could just put the prices on the bottom. I always think that when I buy a picture and the sticker is right on the glass.

  31. From boring to dreamy...what a great transformation. And yes, prices written on the front or on tags that leave damage when peeled off drives me c-r-azzzzzzy!

  32. OH. HOW. CUTE. IS. THIS????

    JUST TOO CUTE!!!

I am soooo inspired every time I come over here.
wish I had time to repaint things, makes such a difference.

But then I can never decide: black? white? gray?? and of course, turquoise, this time of year. =)

I hope it is OK to pin this.
Please tell me if not. =)

  49. Lovely redo- I bet it sold in no time flat!

In line with written-on-the-box pricing, I hate when thrift stores put the price tags directly on the design on a glass (possibly removing some graphics), or the bottom of a plate/flowerpot covering the maker's mark!
