This has not been an easy decision for me but I have decided to take an extended break from blogging. For those of you that have been following along for awhile, you may have noticed fewer posts from me over the past few months. My heart is just not in it right now and I felt I was posting just for the sake of posting and that's not what I want my blog to be.
I'm leaving my blog open so past projects will still be accessible.
And I will still be popping in on your blogs to see what you've been up to.
Thanks for all of your support.
Jane

I understand... sorta feeling the same way... not sure what I'm doing about it yet. Will prob. keep on for a while - and then we'll see...
ReplyDeleteDear Jane:
ReplyDeleteI've had your blog in my "feed" for a long time so that I don't miss any of your posts. I'll miss your "voice" and creative spirit. Know that you'll be in my thoughts with hopes for your return.
xoxo
Your Blog Friend,
Donna
Jane I will really miss you but completely understand! I hope the blog break will help you find a new direction. Maybe someday you will come back, but if your blogging days have passed, then they have. Wishing you only the best. Take time of yourself and please know that I have enjoyed your posts, your sharing of you husbands brave struggles and the chance to get to know you. Big Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteI will really miss your posts...I love all your adorable projects. I know it has been very rough for you lately and I truly hope you will find peace. Come back whenever you feel you can...take care.
ReplyDeleteYou have ideas for "junk" reinvention that are above and beyond other makers. I'm always bowled over by your projects: you could be on staff someplace like Flea Market Style. I sincerely hope you are able to continue with your inspirations for yourself, and that they bring you some satisfaction, even pleasure. Grief can make those feelings elusive--and you likely have so much to work through as you try to find your "new normal" without your loved life partner. Many blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteLiebe Jane
ReplyDeletedein Blog ist wie ein Stück vom Himmel und ich hoffe Du machst ihn irgendwann für uns alle wieder auf.
Ich wünsche Dir viel Ruhe und Kraft für die Zukunft.

I can't say anything different than what was already been said. I totally understand the need to take a break from blogging. Although my loss was not as deep as yours, my brother-in-law, who I have known for 54 years, recently passed away and I took a break, albeit brief, from blogging and creating.
ReplyDeleteI hope to see you again one day, if not on your blog, perhaps in a magazine.
Take care,
God bless,
Marsha
As I am out and about junking I always see something and think to myself...what would Jane do with this. I think you are the most creative person I have ever "met". Thank you so much for your inspiration and encouragement.
ReplyDeleteI wish you peace and enjoyment of all your projects and hope to see your name once in a while!!
I haven't commented often but always read your inspiring posts.
ReplyDeleteGood luck and best wishes.

Hoping you just need some time to heal and rejuvenate your amazing creative spirit and that you'll be back to blogging someday. But if not, it's been such a joy reading your posts and seeing your beautiful projects. Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteHi Jane,

ReplyDeleteJust arrived....and yet totally understand. Life's paths call, we must listen.
ReplyDeleteBe well,
Kari
Thst's such a shame, I love your ideas and posts. I know how you feel though, I started my blog as a place for me to post all my favourite finds, my makes etc. however, I found that once I started to have followers, I felt compelled to post stuff to keep them interested, not me.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, we look forward to your return. Enjoy your break.
I am so sorry to hear this...you know how much I love your spin on things. But I know you have had some heartache...and you need to take time. I will miss you....hope to hear from you occasionally.
ReplyDeleteI complete understand your decision, I know you've been through so much lately and need time to step back. You've been such a source of inspiration to me and to so many others, and I'll be missing you and your very talented and creative mind. I hope we see more of you in the future, but for now just take good care of yourself:-)
ReplyDeleteI understand - I feel the same way sometimes. I'll miss your posts and hope to see an occasional update!
ReplyDeleteYours is one of my favorite blogs, so I'm very sorry to hear this. Your style and 'thinking out of the box' is incredible! I wish you all the best wherever your life takes you, and I too hope to see you back in the future. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers ...
ReplyDeletePatty
I so understand your decision Jane and although I will miss peeking into your creative world I wish you all the best. Rest and heal, enjoy tinkering without the pressure to post. Know that we will be here and over the moon to see you when you are back. xo
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you. Take some time for yourself.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you come back but totally understand the need for a break. I also thank you for telling us that you are taking a break and not just disappearing which always makes me worry like crazy about my fellow bloggers.
ReplyDeletewishing you the very vest in your adventures ahead!!
ReplyDeleteLove to you, Jane...follow your heart and take time for yourself! The blog will be here if you want to stop by! I'll miss you! A BIG XO...
ReplyDeleteI sincerely hope you come back revitalized and ready to share your projects with us again. You are truly one of the ones out there I was always amazed with. Take time, find what feeds your soul, and be happy. If blogging is a part of that, then so be it....if it's not, you will be missed.
ReplyDeleteBe blessed, jana
I am SO going to miss you, sweet lady. I wish you all the best and I will keep you in my thoughts.

Jane,
ReplyDeleteI'm sad to hear this, but so understand why you need a break. As you know, the two of us have been sharing our projects and lives with each other for almost three years now, and I will dearly miss you. You take care of yourself, and I wish you the very best my friend:)
Blessings,
Linda

Ditto to all these other comments. I have been blessed by your blog in so many ways...thank so much!
ReplyDeleteSometimes we need to take care of ourselves. It's good that you recognize that. Take care and I hope we'll see you again.
ReplyDeleteYou will be missed and thought of often.
ReplyDeleteWe're all on a journey and our paths veer off to other adventures that we must explore. We must simply continue to love and support and hope and pray for each other. We have all loved your creativity and your spirit and if you wish please let us know now and then how your journey is going. We get connected in this pseudo world and invest our hearts in the tales and it is nice to know how the story ends.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you dear Jane.

Jane I will miss your posts and great ideas that you come up with. I would like to wish you good luck and many blessings in all that you do.
ReplyDeleteDanielle
So understandable with the past few years you have had--you will be missed!
ReplyDeleteDear Jane, I don't know what I'm going to do without you! I love your posts and everything you make. You will be sorely missed, but I understand completely your need to take a break. I know your desire to blog will come back one day and all your many friends will be here waiting! Much love is being sent to you and you'll be in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you,
Janie
You owe us nothing...we've all been blessed with the generosity of you sharing your fabulous ideas and creative take on things. I do love visiting your blog and seeing how your brilliant mind works with the simplest of cast-off things, and am glad you are leaving it up so that we can come back and visit old posts for inspiration. Please come back eventually, but in the meantime: breathe, relax, heal, and refresh your soul. Take care.
ReplyDeleteMaggie
Totally understandable after all you've been through recently. I will miss your blog as it was one of my favorites. Thank you for keeping it open and accessible; take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteOh Jane, I will miss your posts so much, but please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. You need time for yourself to heal, and I wish you only the best.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura
Dear Jane, you will be sorely missed and I leave you with these words 'If you knew who walked beside you on this path that you have chosen, you would experience no doubt and no fear'

ReplyDeleteJennifer
Jane, I will miss your creative endeavors and knowing what you are up to. I can't imagine how difficult this year has been for you. I wish you well. Know that you will continue to be in my thoughts. All the best as you move forward. Hugs ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteYou inspired me a few years ago to try my creativity. I thank you for that! I love your blog and wish you well, and hope you feel the Lord with you in your loss! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI will miss you/your posts. Thank you for sharing your talents with all who read your lovely words. I wish you the best. <3
ReplyDeleteI only found your blog around a month ago but I have been so impressed with your creative thinking with objects that would be considered landfill by some people.
ReplyDeleteHaving read back through your blog I am not at all surprised that you need to sit in some stillness & tap into your obvious resilience.
I really hope that you can find some peace and new energy for your life.
I am sure we will all be waiting here for when you feel you can return.
I hope the love you feel here gives you strength.
Regards

Totally understand since you've had so much loss so close together. Take a break, relax, have some fun. I love your blog and have pinned many your projects, been buying rolling pins and pie tins, potato mashers and need to find loaf pans. I love the way your mind works, I never can think of the things you think of. Hope you pop into the blog every so often and just let us know how you are doing.
ReplyDeleteI hate to hear of your decision, but I'm sure it is the right thing for you. You are very talented and I look forward to seeing your creative mind at work. Take care and know you will be missed.
ReplyDeleteCathy
Jane, is it possible to scowl and smile at the same time? I'm trying it.
ReplyDeleteThe scowl, is of course, because I'll have no new "Aha, that's brilliant!" MamieJane creations to discover.
But there are so many reasons to smile:
I have hardly scraped the surface of your wonderful crafty posts; thanks for leaving them up!
Your generosity has touched a LOT of us and I hope it has not cost you too much.
Your off-the-beaten-path way of looking at objects has opened my eyes to new combinations and possibilities. Usually that means stepping back and getting simple instead of overthinking.
Living your life trumps blogging about it, every time. Enjoy your family, breathe the fresh air, and have one less thing on your to-do list.
Thanks for 1 scowl and 100 smiles!

ReplyDeleteOh Jane I have wondered how you did it all. I can understand your decision for a break. I hope it's not a permanent one and maybe when things calm down you will return to us. I know this has been a very difficult year for you to say the least. I wish you all best sweet Jane,

You have made your mark in the blog world and inspired so many of us. I understand your decision to take a break from the pressure of publishing blog posts to satisfy your followers when your heart isn't in it. I hope this time helps you come to terms with your recent and significant losses. Thank you for all you have given us, your followers.
ReplyDeletexo, Vickie
Will miss your blogging and your creative ideas for junk and design. I refer back often to various posts and so appreciate your view on things.
ReplyDeleteTake care and hope to hear how you are doing every now and then, just to let us know.

ReplyDeleteThank you for all your incredibly inspiring posts over the years. You have no idea ho much I have learned from you and I now see items in a different light when I'm out thrift store shopping. I wish you lots of peace and tranquility and if you decide to come back to blogging, we'll all be here.
ReplyDeleteI will miss you and all of your incredible and inspiring talent and projects. We'll still be here if you decide to come back later. Take a break and all the time you need. Please know you have touched a lot of us and although we will miss you something terrible, we understand. Sending you a hug.
ReplyDeleteYour inspiration, creative ideas and talent will be terribly, terribly missed. I'm sorry to see you go but understand that it needs to be in your heart and soul to put in the time and effort it takes to make it feel right. I hope someday soon to see you back in the blogging field. Take care and God Bless. Lisa
ReplyDeleteJane I know this has been a difficult time for you, and we will certainly miss you. Maybe after some time away, you will come back. Take time for yourself. But know that we will miss you.

Jane, You will be missed, but I understand why you are doing it. Just post a quick note every now and then to let us know that you are doing o.k. I haven't been very good at commenting lately, just have to much on my mind, but blogging and reading is a way of relieving stress for me. Prayers are coming your way. We can never have enough of those. Hugs Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteA vessel that is constantly pouring out must at some time be refilled. No doubt, even with all that you've gone through, you've poured out more here than anyone could have ever expected.
ReplyDeleteWe've been blessed beyond words that you've hung in there so long, sharing your amazing creativity with all of us. You will be sorely missed, Jane! It is now time to be refilled!
May the God of comfort pour out His great love and blessings on you!
Hugs,
Liz @ The Brambleberry Cottage
OMG girl, we totally get it!! You have lost your beloved hubby and Dad and you work full time....There is only so much time to go around, and you deserve to use all of that time for yourself, I just know you will be back you have so much creativity to share, but.....You will share when the time is right!! Try to drop a quick post from time to time just letting us know how things are going!
ReplyDeleteCarol
We will miss you, but sometimes a blogging break is needed and I am glad that you are leaving it up for us to continue to enjoy. I know after my unfortunate divorce just a little over 2 years ago I too lost my desire to blog, so my blog sits rather neglected--but it still has readers and new comments. I've reached the point that I'm ready to blog again, but now I'm too busy with work and school (51 is too old for that! LOL!) But I always have time to read and enjoy everyone else's blogs. It's time well spent. So enjoy your time and see where it takes you and we'll all be here whenever you might decide to return.
ReplyDeleteCathy ♥
Dear Jane, your blog is one of the first I came across when I started this adventure of blogging and you have always been so inspiring with your projects and with whatever life threw your way. But you've been through a lot this past year and have experienced tremendous loss. Take time to nurture and be kind to yourself. God bless, Tammy
ReplyDeleteThis makes me SO sad. However, I understand, because my blog has been sitting dormant for a year. It's a big commitment, especially if you're a perfectionist like me!
ReplyDeletePlease take care of yourself. You've been through so much in the last year, so I hope you're healing a little more with each passing day. Watching someone pass from ALS is traumatic and hard to let go of quickly.
I've enjoyed your blog so much, so I'm hoping you decide to come back again after a nice break. Just keep taking pictures or your projects, so you can post them some day! Have you ever considered a Flickr account? Then we could follow you there and just see your photos!
Sorry to hear this news Jane, though you must feel its time consuming and your energies are needed elsewhere at this time.Hope you return at some point in the future and thanks for letting us know!A few great blogs have dried up that I follow with no word of why,and it is amazing the amount of comments that enquire as to whats happened with everyone worried that some awful thing has happened the blogger! Take care and look after yourself Jane!
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why an obviously enjoyable part of your creative life must be extended into nothingness. I do respect your decision.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I think there's a better way that you could benefit from like a once a month post.
If you don't want to blog anymore, then consider deleting the blog. I see so many blogs that slow down, stop or take extended breaks that it feels depressing to see the skeleton's left behind.
You have such a wonderful blog here. Please, consider not giving up. That's what your decision feels like to me.
Hey Jane, be good to yourself you have had a particularly tough year and go ahead and take some time out for yourself we will all be here waiting for you wishing you the best.
ReplyDeleteTake a break and relax and enjoy whatever your heart desires. Or take one big long nap, one right after another.
ReplyDeleteRelax, refresh yourself. I truly hope to see you posting wonderful ideas again soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Jane,
ReplyDeleteI will certainly miss your blog but ,oh my goodness, I completely support and understand your decision. I pray for healing and comfort for you and your family. Take care of yourself and one day maybe, when you are ready, you'll come back. Thank you so much for sharing all of your wonderful and inspiring ideas!
God Bless You, Jane.
Fondly,
Ann
Take care of yourself. We wish you the very best.

Jane,
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me with you wonderful ideas. You will be missed! I found out about your blog from your brother-in-law (my boss) and have always looked forward to reading about your projects. Your photography, great descriptions. instructions and honest thoughts that you shared with everyone created a fantastic blog that I have so enjoyed. I know you will continue to create and when you are ready to share again, I hope I can be a part of it again through the blogging world.

I am the (former) Hiawatha girl. ...So I know you can use the beautiful surroundings where you live and the soon-to-come fall weather to rest, renew and begin to heal. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. You have inspired many of us to look at the most mundane pieces in different ways. Take care. Lori Lucas

Hi Jane -
ReplyDeleteThank you for generously leaving your blog open for us out here in blogland. I, too, have enjoyed your creativity, but certainly understand your need for a break.
Sending my heartfelt wishes for peace and healing.
Kay
Jane, I am so sorry for your losses in such a short amount of time. I agree with one blogger, that you should do a book of all of your wonderful projects. I have so enjoyed your posts, and seeing all of your wonderful creations. You have a lot of fans, that will be waiting when you are ready to return. Peace be with you, and blessings to your family. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Debbie
Thanks for all your projects and thanks for your time!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
You will be missed ox, Diane

Well, this is certainly MY loss, because I just found you today, and from a selfish standpoint, I wonder what wonderful things I will be missing now. But from a thankful standpoint, look at everything you have shared with us over time. I think you are just so talented and I can see from you former posts that you have had a lot of loss of family members this year. I'm so very sorry your loss, and wish you the very best that life can bring you. If we are fortunate enough to have you back in blogland in the future, please consider me a loyal follower at that point. Much love and God Bless, Judy
ReplyDeleteJane, I will miss you and your posts. I haven't been around as much lately but I do check in from time to time. I have learned so much from you and been inspired not only by your projects, but by your kindness and strength. May God Bless you with comfort and strength as you continue to heal.
ReplyDeleteSo behind myself that I just found this ... will really miss your blog as it was truly one of my very favorites. I am thinking the same thing as I struggle with trying make time for my new job, the kids, the house ... just everything. I will most likely be taking an extended break myself. ReplyDeleteOh Jane I can't believe you posted this a MONTH ago & I am only just getting to it....!!!!
ReplyDeleteIts sad to know I won't be able to pop in with a glass or three of wine & read about all the new projects you've dreamed up but I'm GLAD you've decided to take a break....I have a feeling that so much of your life for a long time has been filled with priorities that have left very little time for YOU....Maybe by stepping away for a while & making yourself the priority, you'll find a balance....As I've said before....Well still be around....!!!!!
I'll be over shortly for the GREATEST SHOW ON DIRT as Deb over at Talking' Trash calls it....I'll keep an eye out for you 'cause you NEVER know who you might bump into....!!
Take care Lovey....And breathe....**smile**....Tamarah xx
darn!!! I just found you! oh well...I am loving your site anyways...gonna add you to my favorites list and hope like crazy you come back one day!
ReplyDeleteWas hoping you would stop in and let us know you are well :) ~
