An Egg Crate and an Ornament

What do an egg crate and an ornament have to do with each other?

Well, it started with this broken egg crate.
To get the crate looking "like new" I needed to remove a couple of the wood slats.

The crate got a new life.
And the extra wood slats........
up-cycled into an ornament for Christmas.
I cut the pieces, drilled a hole in the center of each piece and thread them on a length of wire.

Perfect for my rustic Christmas decor.

Have a great week!

Jane

  4. Brilliant! Of course, I'd have to learn to use a (gasp!) tool before I could duplicate it, but I'd like to think I might be able to!

  28. Cute idea. I would like to ask you though what to do with the egg crate. I have one that even has the paper egg cartons in it with the wooden top. But I don't have any idea what to do with this. Ideas would certainly be apprectiated.
