I am making slow and steady progress on my bedroom redo (emphasis on the word slow). I set a goal to have it finished by the end of February so I have just under a couple of weeks to make that goal a reality. Since I'm not ready for the big reveal just yet, I thought I would show you another one of the changes I've made to the room.
Here's a reminder photo of the "before".
I wanted to add some interest on the wall behind the bed and went searching in my basement for something I might be able to use. I found this antique screen that I purchased last spring at the Sparks (KS) Flea Market.
Yes, it's a little rough but I love the old wood and hinges.
I decided to wallpaper the screen with a textured wallpaper to cover up the old imperfections. After much deliberation, I chose a wallpaper with a woven look.
The wallpaper was pre-pasted so this was a pretty straight-forward wallpapering project.
After drying, this wallpaper could be painted. I wanted the screen white so I left it as-is.
Now I had to hang it....not easy when you're doing all of this on your own.
Once it was in place I hung a thrift store mirror in the center.
Then I wrestled the mattress back into place and remade my bed.
I am really liking it so far. I'm not completely finished accessorizing the walls....but that will have to wait for another post.
I'll be in Chicago this week for a meeting so unfortunately progress will be put on hold until next weekend.
Hope you all have a great week.
Jane

Great age on the hinges/wooden frame. White panels worked so well. I am guessing hanging that screen and mirror was a challenge. Looking forward to seeing more of your bedroom redo.
