Good Morning!
Typically I would be at work right now but because this is what I woke up to this morning......
I am at home, happy to not be out driving in the mess.
Knowing we were going to get hit with the storm, I made sure I got to the fabric store yesterday to get material for the window treatment for my bedroom makeover. Hopefully by days end I will have the curtains hanging in the room!
I'm hoping to post the finished room on Thursday.
Until then, here's another sneak peek of what I've added to the room.
I decided that my dress form "Shirley" was not getting utilized in her previous spot in my studio. I also needed something with some height in this corner of my bedroom and she was the perfect accessory. The shelf on the wall was a recent $10.00 find. I painted it white and accessorized it with some of my smaller collections. The chair was a $6.00 garage sale find last summer.
Well, I'm off to see if I can remember how to use my sewing machine!
Have a great day.
Jane

I like that you are taking us with you, on your Bedroom Makeover. I love to see how it comes together, piece by piece.
ReplyDeleteLooking good so far!
Love your little corner! I too am enjoying a day off work due to the snow. It is nice to have time off to catch up on things. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love the personal accessories you are adding to the space, Jane! Enjoy your creative snow day!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I have a quick question. I bought an old wooden tool box before I had my surgery in December. It is a dull red, but I wanted to paint it white and rub some paint off so the red shows through in some places. I've never painted wood before. Can you tell me what I need to do?? Do I need to sand the box? What kind of paint should I use that will allow me to rub some off in the end.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your help.

Love your shelf piece, Jane! It looks like the perfect piece to hold your smaller collections. I love your "E's".
ReplyDeleteHi Jane, I like the way you are decorating. We have the same as you and it is still coming down. It is a wonderful way to hibernate instead going out into the bad weather. It is still coming down and the temperature is staying right around the 32 degree mark. I hope the branches don't break under the snow. Enjoy your day. Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteWe're never too old for a "snow day" and your plans sound so productive . The personal touches to your room make the space very interesting . I swoon over your dress form!!! Have fun sewing today.

Love Shirley...she looks great in there!! I have a dress form that I would like to display somewhere in my home, but she is not in that great of shape. Thinking that I need to fix her fabric somehow.
ReplyDeleteYour snow is heading our way. Stay warm and happy sewing.
~Cindy
Don't you love snow-days when you have enough craft supplies to keep you busy? Above all else - crafting supplies. I can always whip up something good to eat with what's in Mother Hubbard's cupboard.
ReplyDeleteThe snow is beautiful and a day off is always nice. Love Shirley in that corner and I adore that shelf. I need to find a great shelf and display the Mr's clock collection! It looks great!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
We don't get many snow days here in Orlando...Lucky you! I am so excited Shirley is coming to the ball, I think she looks perfect in your bedroom!
