A couple of weeks ago I posted about redecorating my Master Bedroom.
I'm far from finished but thought I would give you a little update on what's going on with the project.
My first goal was to find a new paint color that would lighten up the room.
After a couple of misses, I finally settled on a Sherwin Williams color called "Blonde". You can see a little bit of the color on the wall in the second picture below.
I'm happy to say I can check that off my list.
Last week I purchased this fabulous bench from my friend Deb. Much better scale (and much more my style) than the old bench.
The pillows on the bench represent part of my color scheme. The floral pillows are from T.J. Maxx and the pillows with the buttons are from JCP. And the afghan draped over the bench.....I knitted that back in 1978.....true vintage!
So there's your quick sneak peek of a couple of changes in the room.
I still have a lot of work to do but am shooting to get it finished by the end of month.
Wish me luck!
Jane

ReplyDeleteI love the bench! What a great find! Can't wait to see al that you do.
ReplyDeleteLooking good. I love the recycling aspect of junking. With a good eye, as you have, it can really be a way of expressing who you are and creating a space that has meaning...and so many stories. Way to go!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful bench and it's size is just perfect...love that vintage afghan too!
Blessings,

It all looks wonderful. I can't believe you still have the afghan after all these years and it fits into your color scheme! My mother saved a baby sweater I knit in 1979 and it was way more intricate than anything I've knit since!
ReplyDeleteLove your new bench!
I LOVE your new bench - it is definitely more "you" than the first one. I am also loving your new color scheme. I Love your afghan too. I made a crocheted one in 1978 as well! I still have it and it is greens and white. It turned out lopsided...I must go dig it out of the box I threw it in years ago. I'd forgotten all about it. I can't belive we made one the same year...too funny!!
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to see the rest of it...
ReplyDeleteThe bench looks great- perfect scale with your bed. Blonde, hmmmm, that could be any one of many hues, just like my hair. Whatever you do, it will be lovely. Keep us posted and have fun Jane.

ReplyDeleteLove the new bench and beautiful colors of the pillows and blanket. Can't wait to see it finished.
ReplyDeleteYou're making good progress! Love the bench and it's poofy jewellery! Wu-hoo on getting out the 'vintage' throw too. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat bench! I am even more impressed that you knitted an afghan! That takes dedication, even if it was 30 years ago.
ReplyDeletePretty! I love the paint color and the new bench and pillows. And of course... the afghan because it's vintage and hand knitted.
ReplyDeleteLookin' pretty! The bench is perfect. I know you are so happy you chose those colors for your afghan, so many years ago. Old and new, my favorite way to decorate. Can't wait to see more. Thank you for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteLove the bench and it's great to sit on and put your socks on. I know your room will be splendid and have unexpected creations.
ReplyDeleteLove, really love, that new yummy shade you have chosen for the walls. The bench is also much more in scale with the bed. So, back in 1978 you made great choices for your afghan.
ReplyDeleteWaiting with baited breath to see every nook and cranny of the finished room.
Love the colors and the bench is awesome....looking forward to seeing what you do next.
ReplyDeleteWe went thru several different color challenges in our bedroom, too, and landed on Blonde! It's a terrific color and we've been very happy with it. I'm new to your blog and am on board with those that are excited for your renovation!
ReplyDeletehi Jane ... love the look you are getting in your bedroom. Love the JCP pillows. I was there shopping for bedding yesterday and did not see those. Our Penny's does not have a very good selection. Your color choices will be very enjoyable. Bench is beautiful.

Jane, it's looking so comfortable. I love the color green. The afghan reminds me of the one I started in the '70s. Never finished it. Looking forward to the next update.
